Wink --- August 28-2013

On my walk this morning.....I thought to myself that I saw a sign from God....but I realized it wasn't really a sign.....I didn't need a sign......I decided it was a smile from God....or maybe a wink.

I like that
I like that a lot

The wink was a wild sunflower. Now I live in Kansas....wild sunflowers are weeds....and soon will be everywhere.

When I first moved to Lawrence, I had to drive to Kansas City for training for my job. On the second of training...I got to the class and there was a tv on.

It was September 11, 2001

We were sent home.

On the drive -- my heart was so broken, so sad, so scared....what was happening to the world?

And then I saw them......fields and fields of those wild sunflowers.
Somehow I felt God's love in that moment.
In that moment of sadness, he allowed me to see the beauty still in the world.

He smiled again at me today.

I hope that no matter what you are going through today....good or bad or normal....that you see God smiling at you.

Amazing --- August 18- 2013

isn't it amazing all the things we can do now ??
look at the phone that you grew up with....and the phone you have now.
remember the computer game we played....the little ball you hit from one side to the other. 
remember buying record albums and trying to tape songs from the radio onto a cassette ?
and look at facebook.....re-connecting with so many people and being able to share in their lives.....that is crazy cool.
today I am going appreciate all the really amazing things we have in 2013.....
but at the same time....
I am going to appreciate all the simple things that have not changed and cannot ever be improved on......
hugging my husband and feeling like I never want to let go
seeing my daughter smile that incredible smile that lights up the world,
my son's laugh and sense of humor and his great wit,
and a cuddly pup who looks at me like I am his whole world.
